To support our international growth we are looking for a Customer Finance Manager .The candidate will work in an international, small, highly motivated team with special focus on the receivables risk management (RRM), which includes -among others- the assessment of applicants, the follow up with customers in late repayment and the portfolio management in our newly established entity in Nairobi.

Job Purpose
The position holder will be responsible for maintaining Kenyan accounts receivables portfolio quality at reasonable levels.

Duties and Responsibilities
Market Kick Off: Driving the Set-up of the Kenyan Customer Finance department and the integration of Kenyan Customer Finance department into overall Kenyan company operations.
Staff management: supervising Customer Finance staff carrying out RRM related activities; recruitment, training and performance review of new and existing staff.
Day-to-day management: Management of the day to day operations, including customer assessment and approval, management of overdue and defaulted receivables, customer field visits for benchmark data gathering purposes, etc.
Portfolio-, regulation- and process compliance monitoring and reporting: monitoring portfolio trends; monitoring of Kenyan regulations and customer protection legislation;
• Providing national portfolio and compliance reports as well as recommendations for RRM adjustments to superiors.

Required Qualifications
• Business degree in related field.
• Proven track- record of at least 3 years in the financial industry with strong focus on lending products, preferably in the microfinance- and/or consumer lending sector.
• High level of familiarity with typical income, expenditure and cash flow patterns of rural and peri-urban households and micro-enterprises in Kenya.
• A good knowledge background in agriculture would be an asset.
• Possess creativity and mental flexibility to enhance and incorporate innovative lending methodology and procedures
• Possess a hands-on approach as well as pronounced social competencies for teamwork and first experience in people management.
