Our client would like to fill the position of Project Accountant who will be reporting to the Finance Manager.

Purpose Statement of the Position.

Responsible for the day to day accounting and financial reporting requirements of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain all the books of accounts at an efficient and accurate level at all times.
• Preparation of annual accounts/monthly management accounts and monthly Cash-flow projection.
• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and produce monthly budgets actuals
• Maintain the General ledger-monthly trial balances of operations and monthly profit and loss/Balance sheets
• Financial controller of the company transaction including the collection of services charge, payments to service providers, billing and audit support.
• Management of audit process and preparation of the company outgoings are paid on time and queries answered.
• Daily reconciliation-bank, contractors accounts, sub-contractor accounts
• Ensure creditors and debtors are paid/received on time and track
• Approval of receipts in the CRM System
• Keep the management aware of all financial transaction at all times.
• Generating financial reports as required by the management and board of directors
• Participate in funds flow with regard to bank draw-downs and house sales revenues. This would involve closely tracking deposits, mortgage disbursement, and follow-ups to installment payment.
• Work closely with the sales manager to match the financial position with the sales position.
• Maintain and administer the in-house QuickBooks financial system
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the payroll and related statutory requirements
• Ensuring all statutory requirements such as local licenses and permits comply
• As a supervisor ensure that the company adheres to all labor laws and related statutory requirements
• Performing any other duties and activities required by the company from time to time.

Minimum Requirement
• At least a part-qualified CPA 3 / ACCA 3 / CIMA or equivalent.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a business with a strong element of project finance
• Experience with a real estate developer would be beneficial

Competencies and Skills required
• Must be well organized.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Modeling)
• Experience using generic accounting software is expected
• Have an aptitude for communicating effectively with customers, in both Kiswahili and English
• A high level of professionalism and business acumen required
